Training for Doctors

Training weekends accredited by the RACGP for CME points are held by West Coast Skin Clinic from time to time, presented by Principal Doctor, Dr. Jonathan Bell, occasionally in conjunction with co-owner, SCCA President Dr Damien Foong.

To register your interest in future courses please contact us or phone 9404 8747.

Referrals

We welcome referrals from other practices for skin examinations and treatments.

Our doctors are highly trained in dermoscopic skin cancer diagnosis, and employ state of the art Molemax HD™ digital dermoscopy equipment to provide the most accurate possible clinical assessment. Suspicious skin lesions are promptly biopsied, and surgical and non surgical treatments are carried out within the clinic in most cases.

The fee for a skin cancer examination is $100, which attracts a level B Medicare rebate, and is inclusive of indicated biopsies and basic treatment of solar keratoses. Pensioners over 65, and DVA Gold Card holders are fully bulk billed, and discounts apply for other concession card holders. Fees apply for other treatments, which will be discussed by the doctor with the patient.

We use a dedicated theatre room to perform surgical skin cancer treatment, including flap and graft reconstructions on the head and neck, and margin controlled “slow Mohs” excisions where warranted. Other treatments offered are photodynamic therapy, cosmetic mole removal, wrinkle relaxers and dermal filler treatments.

We commit to seeing referred patients promptly; referrals considered urgent such as suspect melanoma will be seen within the next few days if at all possible. Reports of assessment and treatment, including any associated histology, will be forwarded to you immediately.

To make a referral simply call us on 08 9404 8747. Alternatively patients can make their own arrangements with us; please ensure that they let us know that you have referred them when they book.

If you would like a visit from one of our liaison staff to further discuss the services we offer, please contact us here.
